Scattered storms into tonight
Birmingham, Ala. - As a weak cold front approaches from the west, showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage. This front will stall over the central sections of the state and be the focus for shower and thunderstorm development into Tuesday. A few storms may have gusty winds, locally heavy rainfall, and frequent lightning, but this activity will be brief. Overnight lows will be in the lower 60s. Thunderstorms will be diminishing on Tuesday evening. A brief cool-down will occur into Wednesday before hot weather builds back-in over the state. That means the 90s plus humidity equals uncomfortable outside weather.
